"The piano is a delightful instrument that brings joy to both the performer and the audience and is a wonderful means of creative expression."
- Ms. Rekha Cardoza
to encourage creative self-expression.
to further wellbeing.
Rekha was captivated by the warm, evocative tones of the piano early in life. She started formal lessons at age 6 and has performed, as well as accompanied numerous groups since then. On acquiring advanced level certifications in Piano Performance and Theory, Trinity College of Music London, she began teaching in Bangalore.
More recently, she has been teaching in Austin and has prepared students to perform at talent shows and various social events.
Her enjoyment of music, combined with her ability to play by ear, allows her to adapt lessons to suit students of various ages, abilities, and interests. Also, she is able to teach students popular Western music or favorite tunes to complement lessons. This encourages and motivates students.
Online class until COVID Situation relaxes. Online classes may continue upon student request.
I started playing (piano) when I was 6 years old in Bangalore, India, and I left piano there because I found it very boring. But, after I started Rekha Ma'am's class, I found it fun because she let me play the pieces I wanted to play, and she helped me find fun in piano; in music. Even during breaks and free time, I play piano and try (to) learn new pieces because of her.

After speaking to Ms. Rekha, I realized that she personalizes her classes according to the child’s interest. It is not a typical class. She brings it down to the child’s level and interest..(My son) waits for her class. I thought of sharing my experience as a parent because I saw him taking out a difficult tune on his own...Teachers can be the most powerful motivation and I am grateful to Ms. Rekha for bringing that spark back again.

Samspra is a good place to learn musical instruments...Mrs. Rekha is teaching piano to me and my 4 year old son. She taught piano to my son in a fun way. My son is always excited for the class.

Ms. Cardoza is an encouraging and patient teacher who enjoys teaching and that helps you enjoy it too. Six months in I can play a Beatles tune. I'm happy with my progress and glad to be a student at Samspra.
